OK, I now have a functioning external NTFS HD. :) I just have to mount it each time I start the OS. I did try adding it to fstab but for some reason that will not work properly.

The magic line, which I now use in a script, is:

sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /media/usbdrive1

I had to do a -o force the first time but not since then. Reason was that the volume was dirty and that meant going into windows and running chkdsk on it. After going back into Ubuntu, the force was no longer needed. I saved the line in a file and just sudo -s in terminal and run ./usb and boom, there it is. :)

Going into a mount manager, I have all of the info listed with the type listed as fuskblk.

Odd thing, in Nautilus it lists the drive twice. Once by the FreeAgent name and the other as the usbdrive1. Both are identicle and functional.

Right now I am grabbing xaralx. Already installed dia and scribus. Westnoth and lincity-ng may be added to the game collection. Plus no system is complete without nethack. LOL
